Welp, there goes that last of -my- dignity...

Medium: Cartoon
Episodes: 26

After much debate, and the realization that I'm even more impervious to girliness than before, I finally decided to check out... *grumblegrumblecan'tbelievei'mwritingthis* ...My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
Yes, you may mock me. I won't stop you.
The thing with MLP (like heck I'm writing out the full title) is, it was designed with more than just little girls in mind. I discovered this when I stumbled upon Lauren Faust's deviantArt page, and did a little bit of research on TVtropes. I knew the show had existed for some time, as it's basically completely impossible to go anywhere on the 'net without running into it. Lauren and the rest of the show's team carefully crafted it so that, while, yes, it's friggin' MLP, and therefore aimed at little girls, adults and boys could watch it too without feeling too embarrassed. Needless to say, they were successful, the cartoon became wildly popular, and, again, after days of convincing myself not to let my curiosity get the best of me, I finally gave it a whirl.

Especially that theme song. Oh, dear God... My brain went into sugar shock. ;_;
Here's the deal: It's good. I'll admit it. I've only watched three episodes, but the simple fact is, the team aimed for something that could entertain all audiences- mission accomplished. There are some jokes that I guarantee flew over younger watchers' heads but amused their parents, and there was some other humor strung in that gave me a chuckle (cartoon antics and a decent sense for irony, mostly). The writing's decent, the animation's decent, the whole thing has a pleasantly quirky presentation, and unlike some other cartoons I've watched, I can actually understand how this one caught on as well as it did. However, I can't really see myself sitting through the whole thing; it's just not my bag. Can't say I didn't give it a fair shake, though.

Score: 7/10- All Right
Pass/Fail: *sigh* The ponies get a pass.
